Abstract |
Between 2005 and 2009, Marvel Studios' independent film production diverted creative and economic power from major studios once licensed to use its comic book properties. Marvel negotiated and legitimated this changed relationship through self-reflexive trade stories that positioned comic book managers as inevitably integral to a reimagined film production culture.
