Abstract |
Ty Templeton is an award-winning Canadian comic book creator who has worked as a writer, artist, inker, editor, letterer and colourist since the mid-1980s. His credits include Stig’s Inferno, Gotham Adventures, Batman Adventures, Hoverboy, Justice League Unlimited, The Simpsons, Ultimate Spider-Man, and many other titles for DC Comics, IDW, Marvel, Vortex and a range of other publishers. This interview details how he first came to work in the comic industry and explores his thoughts on the history of comics, Jack Kirby’s contributions to the medium, what elements make for great superhero comics and how superhero comics have changed over time, the trend towards decompression in comics, Batman as the ultimate ‘control freak’, and why Selina Kyle just might actually be Bruce Wayne’s perfect soul-mate.
