Roberto Bartual challenges the opinion that modernism never existed in comics through an analysis of a 1934 page by comic strip master Frank King. Bartual traverses the topology of this page’s architecture to reveal how the experience of memory as the simultaneous perception of time is not that different from an effect Marcel Proust tried to achieve.
