Abstract |
This article is an attempt to draw the connection between the plots and types of fotonovelas and capitalism and to suggest possible reasons for the dominance of one type in certain areas of Latin America. Given the magnitude of such a task, the authors have attempted to present a systematic overview, which can only be accomplished at this stage by being schematic as well. It is hoped that from this effort a more complete analysis can be made at a later date.
