Abstract |
[Abstract in English below]
This paper aims to study the formal features of two well known works by Paco Roca (The Lighthouse and Streets of Sand) and their relationship with the concept of fantastic. Not only in the narrative structure but also in the way of representing graphically the reality, the author offers a thoughtful poetics of what can be labelled as “fantastic graphic novel”. In that model a huge number of literary, symbolic and iconic references are included, which implies, in this particular case, that characters are less complex in their psychological development. The diary life usually told in some graphic novels is defamiliarizated through a sort of contemporary parable. |
