The illustrations of Japanese instruction manuals for camcorders are different from those produced in Europe. It is interesting to note that most illustrations, no matter whether they show screen shots or demonstrate the correct handling of the camcorder, show young girls. This article provides an analysis of some examples from a variety of Japanese camcorder producers.
