Abstract |
The booklet surveys almost one hundred years of Italian Comic Art. Beginning with the earliest known examples, in the illustrated magazines of the revolutionary 1848, and reaching the decade of its full blossoming, the Thirties of the past century, the essay traces the history of sequential art in Italy, focussing on its relationship with children literature and popular fiction.
