Abstract
The paper deals with the possibilities of applying gender narratology in comic analysis. Using recent approaches in gender-oriented cognitive narratology, the concept of embodied reading is made productive for the narrative analysis of Shit is Real by German comics artist Aisha Franz. A discursive framework for the analysis is provided by the theoretical insights of feminist posthumanism.
