Abstract |
Lewis Trondheim is a key personality of contemporary comics. This introduction aims at giving a historical overview of his work (both the one shot albums and the series) and to suggest a periodization. It also tries to understand the importance of Trondheim as "all round man" in the comics world. After a short overview of the critical literature and a brief discussion on the monumental and committed nature of Trondheim's work, this article introduces the five essays that are at the heart of this special issue.
