Abstract |
After being experimented in fictional and non-fictional ways in mainstream literary genre, biographies have now taken a new form that of an illustrated text. In my paper, I intend to study the cultural production of biographical texts both in Indian and international context. I will address the question as to why biographies are being introduced in the illustrated form now? I will also look into the kind of techniques these illustrated texts are using in order to make the text more appealing and convincing to its readers which consequently creates long lasting effect in the mind of readers. I will also highlight the differences between two readings (literary and illustrated biography) and the impact it leaves in the understanding of the subject being narrated.
