Abstract |
Graphic Novel in Foreign Language Class
Working with graphic novels in a foreign language class increases the motivation of learners towards the language. Students get an idea of the text and themes by the help of the pictures; so it’s easier for them to get into the text. They do not only read the text or pictures—graphic novel offer sequences, so it is possible to teach the visual literacy as well as reading competences. Moreover it’s possible to work with authentic themes, themes which are not made for foreign language learners. A lot of different competences could be taught by working with graphic novels in a foreign language class. |
