Abstract |
“Autobiographical Conversations” centers on a discussion between Dr. Harry Polkinhorn (a Psychoanalyst and Professor of English who teaches classes on the personal essay at San Diego State University) and Ryan Claytor (Comics Artist and Professor of Art and Comics at Michigan State University) about autobiography, comics, and the intersection of the two. In this book, the comics medium provides a visual approach to understanding autobiographical theory by framing the subject matter in the context of a conversation, allowing the reader to feel as though they are part of its unfolding.
