Abstract |
Cheng Tju Lim focuses on Singapore’s 1960 anti-comics movement—a movement that went hand in hand with the government’s anti-colonial policy making. Ironically, perhaps, it was within this culturally restrictive space that, as Lim identifies, comics became complexly layered, antiauthoritarian, resistant critical narratives.
