Abstract |
Critical acclaim, broken box-office records, two Academy awards (including Best Animated Feature) and enduring popularity: for The Incredibles (Brad Bird, 2004), being super has proven to be both a plot summary and a review. In following the adventures of a family of superheroes, the film boasts a taut, engaging script, reasonably complex characters and a neat action-packed storyline. However, it is the exploration of self-identity and being gifted that gives The Incredibles particular appeal as a text for classroom study at both a primary and secondary level.
