Abstract
[Abstract in English below]

Tardi and the Commune of 1871 as seen through Le Cri du peuple: Graphic novel or graphic history? Can we re-read Le Cri du peuple, a fictional comic strip story, as an essay of graphic history? Although Tardi kept a libertarian empathy with the Commune, he also worked as a historian of the sensitive world, supported by a brilliant mastering of sources, reproducing the representations, the customs and the scenery of Paris in 1871 with talent and accuracy. His peculiar touch efficiently conveys the frenzy of the “Bloody week”. That artwork is also an invitation to question ourselves on the different methods of writing history: Tardi associates in a conclusive manner the modernity of comic strip books with the codes of historical writing particular to the first half of the 19th century.
