Abstract
[Abstract in English below]

Cartoons are semiotic objects which are defined by a relation of reciprocal presupposition and complementarity between the plane of expression (the signifier) and the plane of content (the signified). A cartoons utterance consists of both a picture and a written text which are indissociable. Its reading is globalizing; its meaning results from the relation established between text and picture in order to form a coherent whole. We try to determine through microanalyses how Asterix cartoons use this relation and whether their reading has an obliged meaning.
