Abstract |
Semiotic translation is a translation done in similar language but in different media (Munday, 2001).This is a study of intertextuality problem solving in Stéphane Heuet’s work in recreating Un amour de Swann written by Marcel Proust in the end of the 19th century, into comic albums between 2000 and 2006, analyzed at the level of discourse equivalence and pragmatic equivalence (Nord 1991;Baker 2009). The paper describes the process of visual and verbal translation, interpretation and adaptation that Heuet’s did towards Proust’s Novel from visual storytelling study.
