Abstract |
Research on the iconic claims that images are following their own logic and have their own epistemological value. This attribution seems to have had its effect on visual media. Graphic literature, for instance, has developed new topics and new principles of narration. A most interesting new form is the socalled »educational comic«, which is not primarily designed to entertain but to convey central educational issues. The following essay presents some recent manifestations of a new ›faith in images‹ within the medium of educational comic.
