Abstract
Julia Round’s discussion of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman, and in particular, Gaiman’s reworking of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in The Sandman #19, locates this comic within the long tradition of variations of this play about story-telling. The metafictionality of the play seems to invite re-workings.
