This French MA dissertation deals with dreams in Neil Gaiman's Sandman. My contention is that dreams should not be viewed simply as an unproblematic motif that recurs through the series, but rather as a constitutive element of the work's narrative structure and visual identity. Dream is the core concept around which Gaiman articulates his use of intertextuality and mythopoeisis, and as such deserves in-depth scrutiny.
