Abstract
[Abstract in English below]

The use of autobiography in comics during the last few decades has helped the medium to begin to overcome its reputation as a childish art. In autobiographical comics, the authors take ownership of their work, expressing their ideas and becoming visible to the reader. From Maus to Paracuellos, the contemporary autobiographical comic can be perceived as a useful medium for analysing society, reflecting on politics and chronicling the experiences of whole generations.
