Abstract
[Abstract in English below]

Tardi, a Carnival of Freaks. Whether realistic or fantastic, Jacques Tardi’s stories invariably feature a large number of “freaks”. Strange creatures – animated statues, prehistoric animals, deformed Humans, real demons … – haunt his production. What does this constancy reveal? An obvious penchant for the representation of the bizarre, of course, but also a general atmosphere of anxiety of Man faced with his miserable condition and the horrors of History. This article goes through the complete works of Tardi to collect and analyse this monstrous din.
